How much do students have to pay DAK-Gesundheit for their insurance?

Students must pay a monthly premium of EUR 96,79 (2024) for health insurance and EUR 27,61 for nursing care insurance. If you are 23 years old and have no children you must – like all insured people – pay a supplementary premium for nursing care insurance. The premium is then EUR 32,48.
If you have more than one child, your long-term care insurance contribution is reduced depending on the number and age of your children. The best thing is to contact us and we will help you individually.

When you turn 30, you will pay the normal contribution as other voluntarily insured members from the following semester onwards. If you are not gainfully employed and have no other income, your contribution to health insurance is EUR 185,00 (2024). In addition, there is the minimum contribution to long-term care insurance, which is EUR 40,06 per month. Childless people aged 23 and over pay EUR 47,13 a month for long-term care insurance. Again, if you have more than one child, your long-term care insurance contribution is reduced depending on the number and age of your children.
However, there are exceptions. It makes a difference, for example, if you are already a member before your 30th birthday or if you are new to us. In the latter case, we will have to check a few points. The best thing is to contact us and we will help you individually.

Good to know: If you benefit from BAföG, you will receive a monthly grant for health and nursing care insurance from the relevant Student Aid Office (Amt für Ausbildungsförderung). You can download a BAföG certificate here.
